• Snowy Mountains Farmstay. Another Sinclairs property

About

The scenery is marked by wild grandeur, the steep hills of granite formation being thickly clothed with numerous varieties of the eucalypt and other trees, and the winding Snowy River adding considerably to the general picturesqueness. Much of the land is leased for grazing sheep and cattle. In its natural state it’s carrying capacity is one sheep to about ten acres, but when the timber has been killed it can carry a sheep to the acre. Sheep there have been known to reach the age, of 20 years. In a sheltered spot on the range, not far from where these pictures were obtained, there is a flourishing orchard and grazing farm, on which apples, peaches, and other fruits of admirable quality, and magnificent potatoes, pumpkins, and other varieties of produce are raised in abundance.
